New images from Dwayne Johnson's DC League of Super-Pets show Krypto assembling a team. Johnson voices Krypto in the DC animated film, which co-stars Kevin Hart as Ace, with additional voice talent from John Krasinski, Kate McKinnon, Keanu Reeves, Diego Luna, Natasha Lyonne, Jameela Jamil, Vanessa Bayer, and Marc Maron. The film is directed by Jared Stern and Sam Levine and written by Stern and John Whittington, who did writing duties on The LEGO Batman Movie.

Today, EW has shared some new images from Krypto's latest incarnation in animated form from the DC League of Super-Pets movie. One image has Krypto standing by Ace, who is frozen to the ground, likely a show of Krypto's powers on the streetwise dog. The second image features a slew of other pets, including a turtle, pig, and squirrel. Interestingly, the caption reveals who is voicing those players, which is Natasha Lyonne as Merton the turtle, Vanessa Bayer as PB the pig, and Diego Luna as Chip the squirrel. It appears that the main thrust of the story, however, will focus on Krypto (Johnson) and Ace (Hart), says director Jared Stern:
Stern goes on to say that he wants DC League of Super-Pets to leave audiences with the view that "animation is a technique and not a genre," focusing on telling this story with the same level of action and fun in any superhero movie. He also says that the movie will feature the pets fighting a real threat, but one that "uniquely can only be solved by a group of pets". With Marc Maron as Lex Luthor, there's sure to be a very specific threat to these super-pets, as his inventive ways have always provided some special menace for his enemies.
The upcoming DC's League of Super-Pets animated movie just got a lot more super, with John Krasinski sharing the first image of the character he's voicing: Superman. Krasinski's involvement was announced back in June along with many other cast members, but it wasn't clear who his character would be.
In his Tweet, Krasinski said, "Always wanted to do a buddy movie with The Rock. Well, these are the roles we were born to play!" The image shared features Superman flying alongside his best friend Krypto the dog, who has his tongue joyfully lolling out of his mouth, suggesting the kind of buddy-comedy duo they'll be. It comes after Johnson shared the first DC's League of Super-Pets teaser in June, a clip in which a red-caped Krypto is shown soaring around to the familiar Superman theme tune by John Williams. The costume Krasinksi's Superman is wearing looks very similar to the one seen in the Max Fleischer cartoons from the 1940s, particularly the Superman symbol.

Based on the film's promotional footage, a notable omission from the new poster is Cyborg. However, it's possible that there are other members like Shazam and Aquaman that are included in the movie who are not in the image. Still, this could hint that the five heroes that are present in the poster could be the key focus of the film.
